Pinnacle’s 30-Hour Advanced Licensing course is the second required step to obtain your active South Carolina Real Estate License.

Step 1: Complete 90 Hours of Pre-Licensing Education
The 90 hours is broken into 2 courses: The 60-hour Pre-Licensing Course and the 30-hour Advanced Licensing Course
Step 2: Apply to the SC Real Estate Commission (SCREC)
You will need to fill out an application and pay an application fee before scheduling your licensing exam
Step 3: Complete an SC Criminal Background Check and Fingerprints
If you have not already done so, you will need to get a background check and submit fingerprints to the SCREC
Step 4: Schedule & Pass Your State Licensing Exam
You will schedule your licensing exam through PSI, a third-party testing contractor
Step 5: Find an Employing Broker/Firm to Join
You will need to submit a Supervision Attestation Form before receiving your license
Step 6: Apply for and Receive Your Active Salesperson License!
Fill out the SCREC Application license, pay an application fee, show proof of course completion, and then you will receive your license via the mail!
A student who wants to obtain their Real Estate License in South Carolina is required to complete 90 hours of education, pass the Pre-Licensing course exam, and pass the state licensing exam. The 90 hours is broken down into two courses; a 60-hour Pre-Licensing course and a 30-hour Advanced course. Students are allowed to take them separately or back to back. Students will be tested on the 60-hour Pre-Licensing course only. The student can take the 60-hour course and state exam and then take the additional 30-hour Advanced course OR the student can take the full 90 hours before taking the state exam. Although the student cannot obtain their Real Estate License before completing the 90 hours, they can take these separately to spread out the expense of the courses. If needed, Pinnacle will work with students on payment plans.

In order to obtain an active SC Real Estate Salesperson License, this state requires you to complete 90 total hours of education. The 90 hours is broken up between the 60-hour Pre-Licensing course and the 30-hour Advanced Principles course. You can opt to take the State Licensing Exam upon completion of the Pre-Licensing course or upon completion of the full 90 hours of education.
