How To Get A Tennessee Broker Real Estate License
Licensure Requirements
If you were licensed as an affiliate broker on or before May 12, 1988, you need 24 months of active licensure. For those licensed as an affiliate broker after May 12, 1988, 36 months of active licensure are required. A baccalaureate degree with a major in real estate reduces the requirement to 24 months of active licensure
Education Prerequisites
Make sure you have already completed the mandatory 90 hours of TN Pre-Licensing New Affiliate education
Background Check
Confirm eligibility, especially if you have a history of felony or misdemeanor related to financial misconduct. A waiting period of two years from the end of any sentence or conviction is mandatory
Step 1: Enroll in Our Office and Broker Management Course

Step 2: Achieve Passing Score in Course Exam
Aim for a minimum of 70% in the final course exam to successfully complete this phase of your training
Step 3: Submit Examination Application
Apply to TREC for approval to sit for the broker’s license exam, a process that typically takes around 4 weeks
Step 4: Pass the Broker Exam
Score at least 70% in the Tennessee broker licensing exam administered by PSI, within 6 months of application approval
Step 5: Complete Application Requirements
After passing the exam, have your application photo taken, complete fingerprinting requirements, secure errors and omissions insurance, and submit your final application to the Tennessee Real Estate Commission
